The Advanced Interior Systems Technologies Design Lead — Innovation leads the development of future interiors in coordination with the Design Studio and HMI. The role is focused on research and development activities that will lead to the next generation of Fiat Chrysler interiors relating to semi and fully autonomous vehicles. This individual will lead a team to complete interior innovation projects focusing on seating and interior cockpit.Basic Qualifications:•Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent, as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent•Minimum of 8 years of total engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years applying expertise in interior or seating design and development•Sustained level of achievementerformance with increasing levels of leadership and responsibility•Demonstrated potential to teach, lead, inspire and mentor others•Effective experienced based or analytical problem solving ability•Adept at communicating technical issues verbally and written•Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of managementPreferred Qualifications:•Master of Science degree in Engineering, as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent•Prior direct supervisory responsibilities•DFSS Green Belt certification•In-plant and/or program/vehicle launch experience•Thorough understanding of Federal Regulations, 3rd party metrics, interior performance metrics and package tradeoffs•Strong understanding of CAE, impact, durability and NVH analysis•Familiarity with many materials and processes including: metal forming, casting, composites, plastics, injection molding•The ideal candidate will have design and release responsibilities relating to interior development as well as an innovation and entrepreneurial mindsetFCA US is proud to extend to its employees a compensation and benefits package that is designed to retain their talent and to motivate and reward job performance.
