Job Description

.

The User Experience Design Intern will leverage experience and training to work with and learn from a world-class design team at PayPal. The candidate should be passionate about design and creating experiences people love. The ideal candidate should be passionate about all facets of User Experience Design, including user research, interaction design, content design, and visual design with a curiosity to learn and explore each area. The position will be in a collaborative environment working on mobile and web development lifecycles leveraging agile methodologies and collaborative partnership principles. The candidate will also collaborate with team members across various disciplines including product, marketing, planning, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a design team to help create designs for PayPal product experiences

  • Be the customer and work hard towards creating experiences customers will love

  • Be a human sponge learning from a world class design team in all facets of user experience

  • Help create scalable designs for various customer segments, on a variety of form factors, and regions globally

  • Work within existing style guides and patterns, while continuing to push the envelope for better experiences for our customers

  • Provide clear rationale for design concepts and how they align to project goals

  • Creatively help resolve business constraints and challenges through design solutions

  • Cleary articulate design decisions and confidently speak about the rational for design solutions

  • Communicate user journeys by documenting user scenarios, personas, and story boards

  • Use design tools to help present designs to key stakeholders across all levels and disciplines including wireframes and various visual design formats

  • Facilitate design discussions with clear and high-quality outputs

Job Requirements:

  • First experience(s) in a design-related area of study

  • Ability to apply customer insights to identify customer problem statements and opportunities

  • Passionate member of the design community, keeping up-to-date with the latest design trends across web and mobile platforms

  • Participate in rapid prototyping and testing to quickly gain new insights and iterate designs based on customer feedback

  • Use divergent and convergent thinking to explore many possible design solutions

  • Proven ability to work with web and mobile developers to execute best design solutions within technology constraints

  • Strong verbal and written ability to communicate the value of design to product, business, and technology leaders

Education :

  • Working toward Bachelor’s Degree in a design related domain such as architecture, industrial design, graphic design, Human Factors, HCI, Computer Science, Product Design, or Visual Design (or equivalent experience)
