This job was posted by http://www.azjobconnection.gov : For more information, please see: http://www.azjobconnection.gov/ada/r/jobs/2814592 Overview / Responsibilities The Phoenix, AZ office of Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Designer candidate with advanced computer aided design (CAD) skills and meaningful experience in engineering and infrastructure design to support the Infrastructure Branch, primarily the Transportation practice group.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport transportation/traffic projects and clients with accurate drafting and designDesign or redesign complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from project teamCreate exhibits and documents for presentations and reportsWork with project team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs and make corrections to drawings as requested by the senior staffAdhere to discipline-specific CAD standardsProvides design, production and coordination of construction drawings in support of transportation/traffic engineering projects or tasks on multi-disciplinary projectsWork involves analytical ability to select and recommend design procedures, interpret complex ordinances and specifications, analyze design requirements and provide design solutionsSkills / Qualifications Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical discipline plus five years of relevant experienceOrAssociate's degree plus a minimum of 10 years of progressive drafting and design experience, including at least five as a DesignerOrHS diploma (or equivalent) plus a minimum of fifteen years progressive drafting and design experience, including at least eight as a DesignerKnowledge and QualificationsProficiency in CAD strongly desired, preferably using AutoCAD as design platformAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from project team members, including subject matter experts and project leadershipAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formMathematic skills, including basic understanding and use of basic algebra, geometry and trigonometryAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingProficiency in MS OfficeProven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawingsAbility to read, understand and interpret, contours, topographic mapping, and data generated by land surveyorsMust pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyDiversity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
