Work involves providing design leadership, project management and conflict resolution. Exercise an intermediate level of independent judgment with moderate direction from management.span style="text-decoration: underline;"Responsibilities:/spanulliSupport AVD engineering team by creating packaging studies that meet Chassis, HVAC Thermal teamrsquo;s requirements for airflow and directability (ducts and outlets) and chassis functionality/liliEvaluate studio surfaces against criteria and provide rapid turnaround to engineers and studio (meet requirements or not, and demonstrate areas of non-compliance)/liliCoordinate design proposals with all interfacing design groups. Regular work may involve more than one vehicle program at any given time/liliKeep DLT and Design Group Manager appraised weekly of progress, as well as of work requests from AVD engineers (or others)/liliSupport design reviews as requested by Warren engineering team (typically prior to Vehicle Program Initiation ndash; VPI ndash; the transition from AVD to production engineering team)/liliDesign highly complex components and simple sub-systems/liliProvide technical design leadership for a major sub-systems/liliMentor and coach other designers/liliEnsure communication between sub-system groups/liliVerify quality to design team output/liliLead design reviews/liliResolve technical design conflicts/liliFollow corporate standards and policies/liliAssess buildability, manufacturability and integration with Lead Design Engineer and Design Managers/liliAdvise first line supervises of project status, timing, resource availability and capability/liliAssist in establishing design completion dates /li/ulspan style="text-decoration: underline;"Required Skills/Experience:/spanulliExtensive experience in Advanced Vehicle Design (multiple programs, preferably in HVAC or Instrument Panel packaging/design as well as other Chassis commodities)/liliStrong 3D math creation (and editing) skills using NX; working knowledge of criteria files and ability to accurately and promptly communicate HVAC requirements to Design studio/liliExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt quickly to frequent design direction changes/liliPrefer recent (1-2 years) OEM experience with NX 8 and Teamcenter 9 applications in design of HVAC air ducts and outlets/liliWorking knowledge of OEM Vehicle Assembly Structure (VAS)/liliKnowledge of Unigraphic software - Intermediate level/liliFamiliarity with email communication tool (i.e., Yahoo, Lotus Notes)/liliStrong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally sharing ideas, designs and views/liliStrong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and pre
