AECOM is seeking a
Designer / Drafter 2 to be based in our
The successful incumbent will:
Use AutoCad software to create original drawings that communicate engineering design information. Work from work orders, verbal and written instructions to perform duties.
Revise existing drawings based on verbal explanations, sketches, and marked-up prints. Layout and prepare simple mechanical drawings from data provided by Designer.
Output drawings in various formats from electronic files of various types. Research files and catalogs for information required to complete project.
May visit job sites and make preliminary layouts to check critical design problems, and/or to re-check problem areas.
Provide drawings that incorporate site drafting standards and procedures, architectural standards, and other national standards as required.
Check complex drawings for technical accuracy, errors and completeness.
Apply knowledge of procedures and systems to a broad range of basic issues. May require knowledge of specialized processes or technical skills.

Vocational/technical training beyond high school
Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
Requires CAD software experience.
Position may require travel.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
Knowledge of AutoCAD at an expert level, including but not limited to: knowledge Xrefs & removal of existing Xrefs; knowledge of layers and layer consolidation; knowledge of blocks; knowledge of layouts & viewports, knowledge of dimension sizing, arrow sizing, leader sizing; knowledge of scaling & scales in AutoCAD, and to adjust scales per A/B/C/D/E size paper; ability to use AutoCAD border templates with certain letter height ranges, etc; knowledge of multi-line text (MTEXT) for notes
Efficiency in AutoCAD, in terms of quality in a reasonable
Intermediate-to-expert in MS Excel & MS Word
Understanding of doc control, entering/tracking drawing numbers into an excel drawing log, understanding revision numbering on drawings, and knowledge of cloud bubble use w/ revision # on AutoCAD revisions.
