Senior Design Researcher, IBM Corporation, Austin, TX: Lead design research to understand how people think and the use of artificial intelligence to solve work challenges. Lead design research education to further best practices and learn new methodologies. Design software applications that leverage design thinking principles and user-centered design. Ensure product design aligns with business goals. Ensure user-centered product development. Translate business requirements to research goals. Plan, conduct, and report research using qualitative and quantitative methods. Develop actionable insights to drive strategic and tactical decision-making. Deliver artifacts on a continuous basis to improve design quality and product strategy. Facilitate design thinking activities to ideate product concepts that leverage artificial intelligence. Communicate findings on user personas, empathy maps, scenarios and journeys, mental models, and market analysis. Plan, manage, and execute all aspects of generative and evaluative user and design research. Propose, plan, execute, and deliver results. Present findings and methodologies to executive stakeholders. Utilize contextual inquiry, field research, survey design, concept testing, facilitated interviews, prototyping, and workshop facilitation with a focus on design outcomes. Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Information Studies or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as an Intern, Architect, or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing contextual inquiry, field research, survey design, concept testing, facilitated interviews, prototyping, and workshop facilitation with a focus on design outcomes.
