Lehigh University Learning Design and Development Specialist in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Summary:

The Learning Design and Development Specialist is responsible for implementing all aspects of a learning and development program for Lehigh staff, which supports University initiatives and strategic goals. The day to day program responsibilities will include planning and design, delivering and facilitating, coordinating and marketing the curriculum.

Accountabilities:

  1. Program development and management
  2. Works independently to implement an agreed upon strategy for program development; designs and develops employee learning programs in alignment with organizational goals
  3. Explores, builds and consults a network of subject matter experts to provide course content and training curriculum
  4. Researches, adopts and innovates learning strategies based on best practices for facilitation, engagement and reinforcement
  5. Markets, promotes, models and articulates the organizational values of the University
  6. Creates celebrations of employees learning accomplishments
  7. Collaborates with learning partners at individual, department and organizational levels to plan and develop blended learning solutions for different learning modalities
  8. Program logistics
  9. Manages all aspects of communication pertaining to programming, registration, surveying and follow up across multiple modalities including, but not limited to website, talent management platform, print, email and social media; collaborates with Communication Specialist
  10. Fulfills function as a system administrator in the cross functional dynamics of Talent Management System (Page Up)
  11. Ensures exceptional environment for all workshops and meetings to include room reservations, catering, materials, technology requirements, appropriate staffing needs etc.
  12. Marketing and fiscal management
  13. Assists in high touch outreach to gain management and leadership support of professional development specific to the growth and goals of the Lehigh culture
  14. Assists in developing a sustainable budget model and resource management for depth and breadth of curriculum development and program delivery
  15. Provides operating reports and ad hoc reports as requested to support decision making
  16. Aligns planning and costs with program budget
  17. Training and facilitation
  18. Facilitates, co-facilitates and coordinates programming on a multitude of competencies, topics and audiences compatible with a culture of high performance
  19. Consults with teams and leaders on various needs and growth opportunities including but not limited to instrument administration, focus groups, retreats, projects and discussion
  20. Designs, updates and augments learning solutions to support the strategic planning of the University
  21. Measurement and metrics
  22. Maintains program statistics, tracks employee participation and training outcomes across various employee groups across the University
  23. Conducts, manages and analyzes program evaluations and assessments, learning needs surveys and focus groups feedback to add, modify, augment or change program delivery
  24. Develops and maintains a Learning and Development scorecard aligning metrics with organizational goals
  25. Delivers metrics in multiple modalities specific to the career enrichment tracks, the organization, department and the individual

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. Three to five years related work experience in a Human Resources environment, inclusive of instructional technology and design
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Excellent writing ability and organizational skills
  5. Solid analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  6. Solid computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
  7. Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, county and national criminal background checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance. Based upon the requirements of the position Lehigh may also request credit history reports, motor vehicle checks and professional license/certification verification
