Position Type Full-time Company Jered Job Description Job Description: Prepare major component sub-assembly, sections and detail drawings. Also responsible for assisting with calculations, bill of materials and 3D models for PaR Marine projects and associated equipment. This role will coordinate and support engineering activity in regards to the design of marine deck machinery and handling systems. Reports directly to the Director of Engineering and Quality. Responsibilities: Review project customer specifications Prepare major assembly, section and detail drawings and itemized bill of materials Coordinate with Project Engineer on the project to which they are assigned Communicate and assist other departments with calculations and datasheets Develop and maintain 3D model of assemblies and equipment Participate in internal and customer design reviews Provide thorough checking of drawings and bill of materials Assist with the review of vendor generated drawings Revise drawings and associated engineering documentation Create project as-built drawings if required Maintain knowledge of current product designs, standards and procedures Contributes ideas to improve department efficiency and productivity both from a CAD perspective as well as a process perspective through documentation and standardization Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Education: HS diploma supplemented by college level design/drafting coursework. Experience: Minimum Two (2) years CAD experience. Performance Measures: Achieve customer targets with respect to Quality, Cost, and Schedule Compliance with Company Policies (i.e. Safety, Attendance, etc.) Ideal Qualifications: Associate's degree in Mechanical Design, CAD or other related discipline. Certifications in SolidWorks, Auto CAD or related applications. 2-4 years design experience in shipbuilding, construction, or material handling equipment.
