Principal Proposal Designer CA - El Segundo Job Description Raytheon, a leading aerospace and defense technology company, is seeking a talented professional to join our Advanced Media proposal support team in El Segundo, Calif. This is an opportunity to work with other professionals in a fast, deadline-driven team environment in the pursuit exciting new business opportunities. Successful candidates will have an active Secret clearance, possess thorough knowledge of the Shipley proposal process, excellent production skills and have work experience covering all phases of proposal development and experience analyzing U.S. Government RFPs. The Proposal Analyst will review Government RFP documents to obtain compliance requirements for proposal documents to be submitted, including the type of print or media required and the due dates for each volume. Working with extracted RFP information, the Proposal Analyst creates realistic production timelines, obtains management approval of the plan, and works with proposal teams to ensure timely submission of draft material. Expertise and experience using the MS Office suite to produce all proposal deliverable items is required. The Proposal Analyst will modify existing branded templates to conform to RFP requirements and successfully use them to quickly turn draft text, graphics, schedules and charts into compliant, compelling, consistent proposal documents. The Proposal Analyst may also lead other Advanced Media employees in proposal production tasks and monitor quality and compliance of work produced, The Proposal Analyst is responsible for meeting production milestones, identifying peak production times and working with Advanced Media management on surge staffing plans. The Proposal analyst will continually monitor production of all proposal art and text, and provide frequent status reports to management. Relocation assistance is available Primary Responsibilities Analyze RFP documents for formatting requirements, create or oversee development of templates and identify ambiguous RFP language regarding format and deliverables Interface with proposal managers to determine desired support; create realistic production schedules, budgets and plans; obtain management approval of plans Turn draft graphics, schedules and text into high quality proposal documents Interface with proposal team to ensure timely delivery of draft material Communicate with Adv. Media employees about proposal production details and changes; may present Adv. Media process and plan at proposal kickoff meetings; attend daily proposal meetings as needed Plan resources for adequate graphic, editing and document support; plan for surge support requirements Maintain tracking logs in various software tools Ensure adherence to Raytheon brand, Raytheon Style Guide; monitor the quality and compliance of all documents and graphics Maintain configuration management of electronic files Update the proposal library with completed documents Required Skills: Able to communicate successfully with employees at all levels, expressing ideas logically and clearly Understanding of production cycles and timing; successfully negotiate due dates and deliverables Familiarity with government proposal documents and production practices Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate complex concepts Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to multi-task and plan contingencies Demonstrated excellence in use of MS Office Suite Willing to work long days and weekends as needed to support critical milestones Must have a minimum of a Secret Clearance Desired Skills: Experience handling and marking protected material Required Experience and Education Bachelor’s degree Top Secret clearance desired 8 years’ experience in proposal production, proposal management, proposal writing or editing, or managing proposal production teams 113946
