We are seeking a professional who is passionate about Medical Solutions & Improvement to join our team in the role Designer III!


Designer III will be an integral team member for new product development and/or sustaining engineering programs. Works closely with design engineering to create models and detailed drawings with provided specifications for fluid handling products, components, tools, and controls using computer aided design (CAD) software by applying industry standard practices under minimal to no supervision. Additionally, this position may lead minor scope application engineering or continuous improvement projects.


  1. Create complex 3D models and generate engineering drawings to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.

  2. Coordinate with and consult others to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.

  3. Perform thorough tolerance stack up analysis and apply appropriate GD&T callouts to meet design intent and enable ease of manufacturing.

  4. Perform mechanical analysis and calculation to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery. Moderate data analysis capability using productively tools such as Microsoft Excel.

  5. Create detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing and assembly.

  6. Layout, draw and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.

  7. Maintain engineering/product database and library for integrity and revision control.

  8. Administer Engineering Change Order (ECO) activities and champion document control processes. Identifies and implements changes to processes, procedures and tools to improve efficiency.

  9. Mentor entry level designers and engineers.

  10. Administer CAD and PDM software. Researches, stays current and shares knowledge on new CAD methods, tools and software that enhances teams’ performance.

Education /Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent required

  • Greater than 3 years of experience in related field required

  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T

Computer Skills

  • Solidworks, Pro Engineer or other CAD software

  • Infor Visual, JD Edwards or other ERP systems

  • Microsoft Office or other productivity tools

  • Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
