We are seeking a professional individual to join our business in Richmond, UK as;

The role is to lead strategically important brands and retailers in the clothing category. You will be accountable for both the operational and commercial success of their portfolio and the wider fashion business, as well as defining and implementing a brand acquisition & scaling strategy to optimise the brand reach on the site.

This role is the lead merchant in a team of 3, leading and mentoring, and giving direction to the team to ensure delivery of commercial targets, and working with the Fashion Lead on developing the annual and quarterly commercial plans for the fashion business.

Along with the Senior Account Manager, the Senior Manager of Business Development is responsible for supporting the delivery of sales targets across the business unit, and developing an assigned portfolio of merchants.

  • Lead and develop the operational relationship with allocated brands and retailers, within the portfolio and in line with the fashion strategy.

  • Develop authoritative understanding of merchant’s business operations and current strategy and utilise insight to find opportunities for growth.

  • Dedicated management of assigned accounts to identify and implement agreed scaling opportunities and resolve all operational issues through liaison with the support team.

  • Drives brands across fashion and lifestyle where cross over exists

  • Partner with trading lead to develop annual strategy and quarterly commercial plan

  • Work closely to share market insight with Business Unit to support development of vertical sourcing strategy.

  • Identify and source market leading inventory to support execution of strategy



  • A strategic thinker, with a consistent track record of driving results through Business Development and Acquisition

  • Experience of leading, mentoring and motivating teams

  • Confirmed experience in the fashion retail industry, ideally ecommerce

  • Confirmed experience of excellent sales/budget performance within a B2C or B2B environment (preferably retail or ecommerce)

  • Strong trading acumen, keen to operate in a fast paced trading environment

  • End to end ownership of seller plan to support the delivery of the fashion strategy

  • Rigorous management and use of client data to drive business results and sales outcomes

  • Track record of building effective trading relationships with clients/suppliers/brands to drive exceptional advocacy and a joint focus on commercial outcomes

  • Excellent negotiation skills to source critical inventory and establish joint commercial targets

  • Happy to engage at all levels within brands and retailers

  • Proficiency in up selling and cross selling for the mutual benefit of the retailer and the client

  • Ability to build long term, trusted and positive relationships at all levels both internally and externally

  • Excellent influencing skills at all levels and ability to work in a global matrix organization

  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills

  • Ability to operate with agility

  • Ability to manage change

  • Confident self-starter
