Barr Engineering Structural Revit Designer/Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Summary The person in this position will work on multi-discipline project teams to provide computer-aided drafting expertise using Revit and AutoCAD on a Windows platform. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers to create, update, and revise drawings of structural systems, and and will visit project sites to gather information for project drawings. Project work will include drafting design of foundations and supports, steel framing, access platforms, stacks, pumping and piping systems, industrial equipment, conveyor systems, and various details. Occasional assistance with mechanical, electrical, or civil design may also be required. NOTE: The position may involve field visits to client sites, including industrial processing facilities, power plants, and other heavy industrial facilities. Appropriate safety training will be provided. Minimum Qualifications Two-year technical certificate or experience/coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described above Proficiency using current version of AutoCAD Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy working environment that encourages self-initiative A flexible working style and willingness to modify personal schedules when required to meet deadlines and client needs Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship Acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Approximately 2-5 years of experience working on projects directly related to job responsibilities described above at a consulting engineering or industrial workplace Proficiency using current version of Revit Structural Familiarity with software packages including additional drafting packages such as CADWorx, Solidworks, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Geopak, spreadsheet, GIS, or word processing software Familiarity with work in an industrial environment and basic knowledge of various industrial disciplines and industrial construction Barr Engineering Co. reserves the right to consider other legitimate, non-discriminatory factors that are not specifically listed.
