Job Description

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is seeking applicants for full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#415080) at the rank of assistant/associate professor in Graphic Design. Start date for this position is August 1, 2018.

The Department of Art and Design at MTSU holds National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) accreditation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: curriculum development, student advising, grant writing, committee work, high school outreach, and enthusiasm for mentoring the active MTSU/AIGA student group if the opportunity arises.

Ability and experience to develop and teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in the Graphic Design curriculum from entry level to advanced. Expertise may include print, illustration or interactive design. Candidate must be proficient with the latest industry-standard technology, including Macintosh hardware and Adobe software.

Required Education

MFA in Graphic Design or Visual Communication or a comparable MFA that demonstrates study in the Graphic Design discipline

Candidates who possess two (2) years full-time teaching experience in Graphic Design beyond a graduate assistantship will receive special consideration as will candidates who have five (5) years professional/industry experience.
