Job Description

The Art department is seeking an experienced designer whose duties will include working closely with art directors and editors to conceptualize and package stories for all aspects of the feature sections.

The ideal candidate will have excellent typography and composition skills and a knack for organizing complex content into engaging editorial pages. A demonstrated talent for assigning illustrations is required.

To be successful, this designer must collaborate effectively with section, story and photo editors, while being able to independently find creative, conceptual solutions. He or she must be comfortable with technology and change while quickly mastering the tools needed to carry the design through to a finished product.

Candidates for this position should have previous experience in feature design and the organizational skills to plan and assemble sections. She or he should also be proficient in Adobe's InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Digital design experience is a plus.
